Taking care of your hands and nails is a must for many women like myself. Often times, a chance to go get a salon Manicure just never comes with the busy life we may lead. Plus, the visits can get pricey trying to keep up with that lux nail life. So, I Opt for doing my nails at home. Also, doing my nails at home is a destresser and allows for needed me time.

Recently, I have come across the best nude nail polishes for women of color. I have been on the hunt for beautiful nude shades to compliment my chocolate skin tone for many years. Now, the hunt has come to an end with Sally Hansen. I was sent shades from their Color Therapy line called “Make My Clay” and “Chai on Life” to test out. I was so surprised that they ended up being outstanding nude tones. I really liked how the polish applied too. It was not streaky at all, two coats will do you here. Drying time is within seconds also!

In addition to the polishes, I was also sent the top coat. I am so in love with the top coat! Not only does it add that high gloss salon finishing touch to your home mani! but it aids in keeping it chip free. Awesome right!

Over all, I truly enjoy wearing the two colors on my nails. They really give a polished look to your nails in my opinion. Do you like nude nail colors? Want to check out the polish shades that were mentioned? You can find them and other colors in the Sally Hansen Color Therapy line at your local drugstore or wherever Sally Hansen products are sold.

Hi TRC Gang! I am preparing for my travel season and I know many of you all are too. I just love traveling! It allows me to visit new places or revisit those areas that I enjoyed. While traveling, I really like to keep as organized as I possibly can. I take a lot with me guys, so organization is an absolute must for me. Can’t lose items during travel!

One of my hardest items to keep organized during travel is my makeup. I have so much of it (Yes, I’ll admit it, I am a makeup junkie)! I absolutely hate getting home and finding out I have lost one of my favorite cosmetic items. This started my hunt for the perfect set of affordable makeup organizers. I was happy when an opportunity came to work with a company called Tartan and Twine. This company has excellent travel organizers. They come in so many colors and designs. I was sent their Hanging Valet and Small Organizer in animal print (you all know how I feel about animal print…LOVE) with aqua trim to try out.

The Hanging Valet Organizer

This Valet ($25.00) is perfect for keeping your makeup in place and off your countertops while still allowing products to be within reach. It can be hung from a door hook to easily see your lipsticks, liners, powders and more. This bag folds closed and snaps shut keeping your makeup organzed while traveling.

Features:

  • Two flat, clear PVC zippered pockets
  • One deep, clear PVC zippered picket
  • Three flat, mesh pockets
  • Hanging hook
  • Magnetic snap closure
  • Gold tone hardware
  • Made of polyester nylon
  • Fully lined in polyester nylon
  • Dimensions: 11″ x 2″ x 6.75″

The Small Organizer

This small organizer (12.00) is so cute. It is super roomy and you can fit a lot into this bag. Don’t let its compact size fool you. This bag is Wonder for those that don’t want to lug around a gigantic size bag.

Features:

  • Single zipper
  • Interior slip pocket
  • Gold toned hardware
  • Made of polyestr nylon
  • Fully lined in polyester nylon
  • Dimensions: 5.5″ x 2.75″ x 4″

So far, I’m so in love with these makeup bags. They are of very good quality and the gold toned hardware offers a classy touch. As I put some wear and tear on these items, I will update you all on my thoughts. If you are in the market for some stylish affordable makeup travel bags, I do suggest giving Tartan + Twine a try. Their bags are simply beautiful. You can find these and others at Tartan + Twine or at Ulta.

As you all know, losing weight has been a real battle for me. Sometimes I have won, then other times the weight with it’s sneaky self has sucker punched me. The journey has not been easy by far. However, I try to continue to have a focused mind no matter what the scale reads.
In November of 2016, I recommitted to my journey of losing the pounds. There have been some good and not so good days. Trying to lose weight is hard as SHIT (excuse my language)! It has always puzzled me how you can put on weight effortlessly and as soon as you want it off, it’s hard to take off. Crazy! Then you can lose it and gain back even more than what you had before. How many of you have done that? I know I have! Nevertheless, even though getting the weight off is hard, it can be done.

Since November, I have lost a total of 60lbs. Just by changing some things around. I have never been a bad junk food eater or anything like that. I just like good food! Yes, you can over do it on the good stuff too! I had to do some tweaking to my everyday lifestyle (this is a new way of life, not a diet for me y’all), then I started to see changes! I’m really proud of myself!  I still have a long way to go though. I promise to keep you all updated on my journey more as well.
