I AM Fierce, Naturally:Feature

Hello Loves! I am now introducing a new segment on my blog called I AM Fierce, Naturally. In this segment I will be featuring various naturals from all walks of life and letting them share their stories about their natural hair journey with you.

Let me introduce you to Rita. She is 32 years of age and resides in southern Georgia.
Rita returned her hair to its natural state on December 21, 2011. She expressed that she loves her natural hair and its versatileness.
Products that she uses for her hair are V05 clarifying conditioner, Treseme Naturals conditioner, Shea moisture restoritive conditioner, Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO), Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (EVCO), and Flaxseed gel.
Rita’s current Regimen is as follows; “I pre poo Sunday night with my Treseme condish and an oil mix, I make sure to lightly finger detangle and twist my hair up in 12 twist. The next day I shampoo my hair with a sulfate free shampoo with my twist still in. After I rinse that out, I deep condish for about 20 mins under the dryer. Then I rinse and style. On thurday I co-wash with V05 clarifying condish, rinse, then style.”
Rita looks to wash and goes as her favorite hairstyle.
The hardest part about being natural to Rita is H.H.S. (hand in hair syndrome). She says she can’t keep her hands out of her hair. But other then that, she is enjoying her hair journey!
Rita also says that her journey with her natural tresses has helped her to love who she is. She states, “God created my hair like this. I hid for so long but now I can appreciate the versatilty of my natural hair!”
What advice can you offer to new naturals? Rita had this advice to offer to new naturals; “Learn your hair! Try different things because you will never know what will work for you. I tried so many regimens over the last year and a half and I just now found what works for me. Also, conditioner is your friend. Do it as often as possible. As you see in my fav products, I don’t list a shampoo. I do shampoo but I don’t feel the need to have a certain one. But most of all, the main thing is to have fun. Be creative and love your hair!”
